Painting with Ōtepoti Dunedin
This work explores local gardens, flora and walkways near the Dunedin School of Art and Ōtepoti Dunedin. Mornings and evenings have their own glow, the vibrancy of light, the subtleties of line and movement. Each day of painting was marked with a morning walk, drawing, painting, writing, then back to the studio to paint some more and explore what I had experienced that day. The paintings are ruminations of these times, most of them made outside in situ, and embody bodily movements through the garden and fleeting sights.
